New Year’s Concert 2021

Every year, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra sends its traditional musical greeting around the world – the New Year’s Concert, which is carried by a spirit of hope, friendship and peace. A message that is even more important during this difficult pandemic situation. For the sixth time, the "Concert of Concerts" took place under the musical direction of Italian conductor Riccardo Muti, who has been closely associated with the orchestra for many decades. Due to the special situation and as a sign of solidarity, live applause from all over the world was played into the Musikverein.
