Raatikko 50 Years. From Left-Wing Dance Theatre To Performances For Children
How did the politically radical dance theatre Raatikko become a dance theatre for children and youth in fifty years? Dance theatre Raatikko was founded in 1972 by colorful personalities and talented dancers. It has an exceptionally successful past. It survived political turmoil, recession years and changes in the field of dance. Five key Raatikko dancers tell us what Raatikko has meant to them and how they experienced its ups and downs. Raatikko’s current leader Marja Korhola has guided the dance theatre for over 30 years and when she steps down, the last link to Raatikko’s early years will be lost. What will be Raatikko’s direction for the next 50 years?
