The Riga Jurmala Music Festival 2021: Mariss Jansons Festival Orchestra, Conductor John Eliot Gardiner, Pianist András Schiff

A special concert of the newly established Mariss Jansons Festival Orchestra led by conductor John Eliot Gardiner at the Riga Jurmala Music Festival 2021. The programme includes the Symphony No. 1 in C minor, op. 68 by Johannes Brahms, and the Piano Concerto in A minor, op. 54 by Robert Schumann performed by the pianist András Schiff. The orchestra was formed on the musicians’ initiative prior to the festival. Musicians from the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, the Berlin Philharmonic, the Oslo Philharmonic, the Zurich Tonhalle, and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra honour the famous Latvian conductor.
