Un Ballo In Maschera

In this production, the libretto of Gustavo III submitted to the Roman censors was superimposed on the final music of Un ballo in maschera. It is the original Swedish setting. Amusement and fun are the main goal in life and a love affair at the expense of one’s best friend becomes more important than good governance. This is the last opera on which the director Graham Vick worked; its direction was then completed and “signed” by Jacopo Spirei.
