Valery Gergiev And The Mariinsky Orchestra: Brahms And Bruckner
What a brilliant idea to pair the eternal antagonists of the second half of the 19th century Vienna, Brahms and Bruckner. Valery Gergiev and his Mariinsky Orchestra invite us to this extraordinary event at Moscow's new Zaryadye Concert Hall. In the first half Daniil Trifonov is the soloist in Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1. The winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and a Grammy is considered by many to be the best pianist of our time. With Bruckner's Symphony No. 8 Gergiev pursues his quest for a Bruckner of today.
