Baroque opera from the two celebrated british composers ”the Master of Musick” John Blow and his genious young student Henry Purcell. The two composers were collegues and best friends and inspired each other to explore the genre of opera. The playful ”Venus and Adonis” preceded ”Dido and Aeneas”, here performed as a double bill, and changed the musical landscape in Britain for ever. In just less than an hour each, the two operas swirl through unbearable disasters, passion and eternal love.
