Bruce Liu Plays Chopin

Bruce Liu has just won the most prestigious music competition in the world: The Frédéric Chopin International Piano Competition. Born in Paris in 1997 to Chinese parents, Bruce Xiaoyu Liu grew up in Montreal and only began playing the piano at the age of eight. Having studied with Richard Raymond and Dang Thai Son, he is influenced by different cultures. Bruce Liu is one of the most musically expressive and technically gifted pianists of his generation and this Chopin program marked his much acclaimed debut in his native city of Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées.
