Fidelio

A hymn to freedom and justice, Fidelio occupies a special place in the history of music. For his only opera, Ludwig Van Beethoven found new ways to use the orchestra and gave a woman - Leonore, disguised as Fidelio - a major role: to save her husband from prison. This is enough to seduce the director David Bobée, for whom heroism is "powerless to transform the world if it does not meet on its way the ordinary goodness of the humble and the integrity of the powerful".
