The Sound Of Finland

Sakari Oramo’s last concerts as Chief Conductor of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra were an in-depth journey through the musical landscape of Jean Sibelius. The finale turned into a music documentary, which unfolds in close contact with the music of Sibelius, and gives insights to musical relationships – in which the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic plays a significant part, considering its long relation with Sibelius’ music. The film takes us to rehearsals and concerts during 2021. Adding to this, the film pays visit to Ainola, the private home of Sibelius, and also meets with Ilkka Oramo, emeritus professor of the Sibelius Academy.
