Hans Van Manen – Moving To Music

A portrait of one of the worlds´s great choreographer with 150 ballets to his credit and at 90 still going strong. Filmmaker Reiner E. Moritz successfully made the choreographer talk about his inspiration, his muses, the way he conceives dance and the way he transmits his ideas. Carefully selected clips underpin Moritz´ findings and contributors such as his partner for fifty years, Henk van Dijk, dance historian Sjleng Scheijen, choreographer Martin Schläpfer and artistic director of the Dutch National ballet, Ted Brandsen, together with his deputy, Rachel Beaujean, create the image of a “creative volcano” with his very unique signature.
