Hope For Peace

In a musical prayer for peace, Daniel Hope and Alexey Botvinov presented music that builds bridges: They performed works by Valentin Silvestrov, one of Ukraine's most important composers, Alfred Schnittke, an artist who was born in the Soviet Union and died in Germany, as well as by Sergei Rachmaninoff who stands for the great Russian musical tradition. It was no coincidence that Hope and Botvinov got together in March 2022 to make music together: both had planned to meet Valentin Silvestrov, which became impossible due to the political events. Since then, Odessa-born Botvinov has worked on promoting peace with the help of his art.
