Il Trittico

In the theatre, there are unavoidable laws: to interest, to surprise, or to make people laugh. Giacomo Puccini pays homage to this rule by combining all these elements in a single work, Il Trittico, consisting of three one-act operas (Il Tabarro, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi). Premiered at the Metropolitan Opera in New York on December 14, 1918.
