Oscar Straus – The Man Without Limits
Born in Vienna in 1870, the composer Oscar Straus was considered the heir to Jacques Offenbach and was regarded as the new "waltz king". He was an Austrian, French and US citizen and, among all the great operetta composers of his era, he was the only one who was born in Vienna. Straus' career was not limited to one place, but was transcontinental, which makes a film portrait of Straus at the same time a panorama of European cultural history from the Fin de Siècle to the post-war period. For Oscar Straus was ... the man without borders and limits.
