Overtones

"Overtones" will be a series of short original narrative films by Hilan Warshaw inspired by works of classical music. Each of the films is inspired by a specific classical work, and tells a story with the music as its soundtrack, without dialogue. The tone, content, and form of each film vary according to the musical piece. The goal is to create a live-action equivalent of what Walt Disney's "Fantasia" sought to achieve, for our own time. Ideally, these films will both engage longstanding music-lovers and attract new audiences to classical music, using film and music's imagistic power.
