Performing A Never-Ending Journey: Pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii

The 120-minute program captured the behind-the-scenes moments during Nobuyuki Tsujii’s nationwide tour during the 2021-2022 season. Since becoming the first Japanese winner at the 13th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009, Tsujii has been active internationally. The pianist, who is now 34, still values his bond with his fans in the Tohoku region formed after the Great East Japan Earthquake. He talks about how he as a musician faced the big crisis during the six months when he came to a standstill for the first time due to the pandemic and shares his thoughts on the piano and music.
