Pistoleros: Death, Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll
Two Latino brothers from a Mexican-American family in Arizona grow up as musicians in their father's Mariachi group. As teens at the forefront of the 90's SouthWest rock music scene, they form the Pistoleros with ex-Gin Blossoms leader Doug Hopkins. After Hopkin’s early death, and despite landing a million dollar record deal, their fortunes were repeatedly tested by alcoholism, suicide and opioid addiction. The film explores their complex relationship through interviews with the brothers, family members, doctors, colleagues, bandmates, journalists and through their enduring song catalog. It’s a story of Latino family bonds, music, faith, and redemption.
