Ermione

  • Maria Radoeva, Ferdinand von Bothmer © Tyrolean Festival Erl / Xiomara Bender

Gioacchino Rossini's Ermione is undoubtedly one of his most misunderstood and unjustly forgotten masterpieces. The Tyrolean Festival Erl brought the opera back on stage. TV director Felix Breisach specially adapted it for television and created a kind of operatic film from the stage production. With his special aesthetics and the elaborate cinematic implementation, he emphasizes the drama and dynamics of the piece and the music and shows Rossini's opera as a brilliant and gripping relationship drama.
