My Fatherland By Bubenicek Brothers

  • © Czech Television

The famous Czech musical masterpiece in an original adaptation by the internationally celebrated dance performers – the Bubenenicek brothers. Live broadcast from Prague’s Old Town Square. The brothers say of the adaptation: “It is an art project that wants to make a significant contribution to the celebrations of the centenary of the foundation of the Czechoslovak Republic.” Ma Vlast (My Fatherland) is a cycle of six symphonic tone poems that Bedrich Smetana created at the time of the Czech National Revival, a movement that reached its apotheosis thirty years later with the birth of an independent Czechoslovak Republic, and is the quintessential work for such a celebration.
