The Light Princess

  • © Heliox Films

Once upon a time there was a princess, a long desired single child, cursed on birth by a witch to have absolute lightness: physical lightness that prevented her from touching the ground, mental lightness that made her laugh at everything. The king and the queen wondered what could be done with a daughter who could not grasp the gravity of things. George MacDonald’s tales enchanted J.R.R. Tolkien and Lewis Carroll. Violeta Cruz and Jos Houben devised a score and an entertainment that arise from the sonorous outbursts of life in which electronics meet chanson, concrete sounds and the sound palette of opera.
