In 2019, the music world commemorated the 350th anniversary of Pietro Antonio Cesti's death. This great operatic comedian, one of the most highly gifted composers of the 17th century, spent his most productive years in Innsbruck. So, what would be better suited to remember him than the performance of his brilliant masque and comedy of errors La Dori during the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music? A specialist in baroque opera, Ottavio Dantone, and his exquisite historically informed Accademia Bizantina, range amongst the top ensembles for baroque musique and have performed at La Scala and the Salzburg Festival.
