The Concertgebouworkest’s Christmas Matinee concert is a cherished tradition – multiple generations of listeners have attended the festive Christmas matinees since the tradition was founded. The 2019 Christmas matinee promises to be very special, featuring Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, an appeal for universal brotherhood – indeed, some of the most moving music Beethoven ever composed. A large chorus and vocal soloists share the stage with the orchestra to get this key message across.
