Barbara Hannigan is not only the coolest soprano around, but also the coolest conductor. This documentary accompanies her for more than a year during the preparations for her first opera production as a conductor and the recruitment process of the singer cast through a very personal selection process in the framework of her new project Equilibrium. The film follows all stages of the production, starting with the entire casting process and the very first auditions and culminating in the premiere of the semi-staged production of Stravinsky‘s The Rake’s Progress in Gothenburg in December 2018.
