7 Deaths Of Maria Callas

It was probably the premiere of the year! The "mother of performance art", Marina Abramović, has been fascinated by the life of "la Callas" for decades. Now she has conceived the opera project 7 Deaths Of Maria Callas. Maria Callas herself "died six deaths" on stage in her great roles like Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor or Tosca. Accompanied by the original music we see films with Abramović and Hollywood star Willem Dafoe. The seventh death is that of Maria Callas herself. Marina Abramović performed in the faithfully reproduced death room to newly composed music by Marko Nikodjevic. A spine-tingling experience!
