Salzburg Festival: Beethoven Symphony No. 9 With Wiener Philharmoniker & Riccardo Muti
Invited for the first time by Herbert von Karajan, Riccardo Muti has been conducting at the Salzburg Festival for 50 years now. For his personal anniversary he dedicates himself to the Ninth Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven with the Wiener Philharmoniker. Asmik Grigorian, Salzburg´s smashing Salome from Romeo Castellucci's 2018 production and celebrated Chrysothemis at the Festival in 2020 takes over the soprano part. Marianne Crebassa, also no stranger to Salzburg, most recently delighted the audience as Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte. Saimir Pirgu, who had his international break-through in Salzburg 2004 as Ferrando, and star baritone Gerald Finley complete the top-notch cast.
