Salzburg Festival: Daniel Barenboim

  • Daniel Barenboim © Marco Borrelli

70 years ago to the day, the famed pianist Daniel Barenboim gave his first public concert in Argentina at the age of seven. Four years later, in the summer of 1954, he took conducting courses with Igor Markevitch in Salzburg before making his official Festival debut as a pianist in 1965. Ever since then, he has felt a special connection to the city and its Festival and it is no wonder that he celebrated his stage anniversary at the Salzach. On the programme: Ludwig van Beethoven´s Diabelli Variations and the Piano Sonata op.110. A touching audiovisual document!
