Salzburg Festival: Martha Argerich & Renaud Capuçon
Martha Argerich and Renaud Capuçon delighted their audience at the Haus für Mozart with a great moment of chamber music. Euphoria was felt by the Grande Dame on the piano and the violin virtuoso from France with Ludwig van Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 8 in G major op. 30/3, and also in Sergei Prokofiev's Second Violin Sonata in D major op. 94a the emphasis was on the cheerful elements. In César Franck's Violin Sonata in A major, Capuçon demonstrated subtle elegance, Argerich noble passion. After the encores, a movement from Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata and Fritz Kreisler's Liebesleid, standing ovations.
