Six Concertos For Eternity – The Story Of The Brandenburg Concertos

  • Johann Sebastian Bach © Autograph

The Brandenburg Concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, together with Vivaldi's Four Seasons, are the most famous concerts in the history of early music. They are true "evergreens" with an exciting genesis, brilliantly orchestrated and extremely varied. The Australian flutist Ana de la Vega is fascinated by this gem from the Late Baroque era. In celebration of the 300th anniversary of the concertos in March 2021, she tells the fascinating and still mostly unknown story of the concertos, the second of which even made it onto the gold record with which the Voyager 1 probe was sent into space in 1977.
