Maverick: London's King's Head Theatre
The incredible history of London's King's Head Theatre, the legendary launch pad for many acting and directing careers. The open, improvisational approach allowed dozens of careers to flourish. This is the story of how it evolved. Starting with John Fowles' The Collector, the constant stream of work that the King's Head produced provided essential fodder for the West End - with on average one show transferring every year. Tom Stoppard, Alan Rickman, Joanna Lumley, and Mike Figgis are just a few of the artists whose careers began or exploded at the King's Head.
