The BRSO Live From The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg
What a great night at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg: The Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks featured acclaimed pianist Beatrice Rana and one of the leading conductors of our time - Yannick Nézet-Séguin. A new work by Hans Abrahamsen commissioned by a group of orchestras - amongst them the BRSO - opens the evening. Clara Schumann's piano concerto used to be in the shadow of her husband Robert's works, but recent times discovered a first-rank romantic piano concerto in its own right. As it comes to an encore, Beatrice and Yannick play the Brahms a-minor waltz four-handed! The concert comes to an end with Johannes Brahms' 3rd Symphony.
