The 100-year-long history of the Latvian National Ballet is connected to the best traditions of the classic ballet school that has given the world such stars as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Māris Liepa, Alexander Godunov. The brilliant gala concert dedicated to the centenary of the National Ballet reveals the diverse repertoire: from the classics to the contemporary featuring such world-famous choreographers as Marco Goecke, Edward Klug, Krzystof Pastor; Latvian choreographers Aivars Leimanis, Elza Leimane, Raimonds Martinovs and the most outstanding artists: Evelīna Godunova (the Berlin State Ballet), Timofej Andrijashenko, Nicoletta Manni (Teatro alla Scala), Young Gyu Choi (the Dutch National Ballet).
