The Inaugural Concert: Tarmo Peltokoski & Latvian National Symphony Orchestra

Tarmo Peltokoski, the newly appointed musical and artistic director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra is 22 years old, and he has a strong musical vision and a clear idea of what he wants to achieve. The French music magazine Diapason writes about him: “Attention, a genius!” On the program: New York based Latvian composer Krists Auznieks’ "Grace", and Ralph Vaughn Williams 5th Symphony which is dedicated to Jean Sibelius, also followed by the 5th Symphony by the dedicatee. The works by Sibelius were his musical contribution to forming the identity of Finland as it liberated itself from Russian domination.
