Vienna Philharmonic, Camilla Nylund & Christian Thielemann Perform Bruckner And Strauss At The Musikverein, Vienna
To mark the bicentenary of Anton Bruckner’s birth in 2024, Christian Thielemann, the Vienna Philharmonic and Unitel are recording the first Bruckner cycle in the orchestra’s history. Under Christian Thielemann's baton, the 6th Symphony is sonorous and glowing, the build-up of tension and release is sensitively handled, and each solo is impeccably played by some of the world’s finest musicians. “The Vienna Philharmonic, conductor Thielemann and composer Anton Bruckner - this is a combination that music lovers can truly enjoy” (Kurier). The programme is rounded off with Richard Strauss’ “Malven” and “Four Last Songs”, sung by Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund.
