Where Do I Go – A Journey With Gustav Mahler
Music-Film and documentary on a joint project by the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks and FRANUI Musicbanda (Austria). Both Choir and Ensemble explore the background, implications and creative possiblities of various songs by Gustav Mahler and ballads by Carl Loewe. The Musicbanda performs on instruments typical for the alpine regions (Violin, Trumpet, Harp, Accordeon, Double-Bass) and thus reveals the sources of Mahler's unique combination of instruments and sounds. The film was shot in the studio with ARRI-cinematic cameras and on location in Eastern Tyrol where both the Musicbanda is based and one of Mahler's "Komponierhäuschen" (Composing-hut) is located.
