In 2018, in honour of the centenary of the Republic of Latvia, a new symphony orchestra was created with Latvia’s best young musicians. Three world famous Latvian-born artists worked with the orchestra – soprano Kristine Opolais, violinist Vineta Sareika and accordionist Ksenija Sidorova. Under the leadership of the musical mentor and conductor, Music Director of Komische Oper Berlin, Ainars Rubikis, the artists conducted master classes and performed in the gala concert. Latvia is a special place – its nature, environment and musical education have revealed wonderful musical talents that are now widely known around the world.
